Responsibilities
The Finance Controller shall report to the Board of Directors. Ultimately, he/she is anticipated to facilitate the transition of the financial department to best-in-class corporate governance practices.
Planning and board reporting:
- Working with the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Accountant and other relevant stakeholders in order to develop quarterly budgets and annual business plan, including projections of key items from the income statement and balance sheet
- Working with the CEO, CFO and Chief Accountant to develop materials for Board meetings, including the annual business plan and quarterly reports
Oversight:
- Oversight of the finance and accounting departments to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions
- Oversight of the financial performance of the company, including revenue, payroll, fixed and variable costs, working capital management and capital expenditures
- Ongoing monitoring of the financial performance of the Company in line with quarterly budgets and annual business plan and proactive flagging of areas of underperformance
- Monitoring of all financial flows in and out of the company to assess compliance with the governing documents of the Company
- Analysis and development of recommendations
- Conduct quarterly and annual variance analysis between budget and actuals, develop recommendations where appropriate
- Development of recommendations for the improvement of the work of finance and accounting departments, including process flows and the control environment
- Development of recommendations for operational efficiencies and cost reduction across the business
- Mapping of company business processes, assessing the overall control environment and providing recommendations for improvement
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in finance, accounting, audit or a similar field
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CFA or similar are a plus
- Excellent knowledge of Armenian, Russian and English
- Good knowledge of accounting standards, including IFRS
- Competent user of Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel
- Good knowledge of accounting software
- Good knowledge of corporate governance standards and reporting. Experience in installing corporate governance standards into business operations will be viewed as an advantage
- Critical thinking, high attention to details, ability and willingness to take initiative
